The Big Benelux Mangrove Tree Planting

It’s time to roll up your sleeves, walk the talk, and show the world what the BeNeLux countries can achieve in fighting the negative effects of climate change when they work together.

This event is made possible due to a historic collaboration between the BeNeLux Business Council, Belgium Business Council in Dubai, the Netherlands Business Council in Dubai, Belgolux and Belgian Club Dubai.

We are excited to invite you to join us for a mangrove tree planting event at the beautiful Jubail Mangrove Park in Abu Dhabi. Jubail Island offers a unique opportunity to showcase our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. With its lush mangroves and crystal-clear waters, Jubail Island provides a stunning setting for our initiative.

You can choose to participate in two activities: planting mangrove trees and planting mangrove trees in combination with an adventurous kayaking experience. The choice is yours!

• Activity 1: Mangrove Tree Planting at 11am, Fee 110aed
• Activity 2: Mangrove Tree Planting and Kayaking at 2pm, Fee 240aed

About Mangrove Trees
Mangrove ecosystems act as carbon sinks. Did you know that mangroves sequester more CO2 compared with other forests? Current studies suggest that mangroves and coastal wetlands annually sequester carbon at a rate ten times greater than mature tropical forests. They also store three to five times more carbon per equivalent area than tropical forests. (Source NOAA)

COP28 and the BeNeLux Pavilion
COP28, which will take place in the UAE from 30 Nov - 12 Dec, brings the world together at a critical moment for global transformative climate action. At COP28 a BeNeLux Pavilion will be present to showcase the many initiatives its private and public sectors are taking to tackle the negative effects of climate change.

Before COP28 takes place we want to give you the opportunity to make a positive impact. So let's come together, get our hands dirty, and have a fantastic time at the Jubail Mangrove Park. Many years from now you will look back at this event thinking: ‘Yes, I made a difference!’
