The Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Benelux Business Council have the pleasure to invite you for a webinar Overcoming supply chain challenges of the Covid-19 Vaccine on Tuesday April 27th 2021 at 2pm UAE Time (12pm LUX Time).
The webinar will highlight the efforts undertaken both by the actors at Luxembourg airport on one side and by Emirates Airlines on the other side to ensure a safe and secure supply chain of the vaccine. In addition, B medical Systems, a Luxembourg-based manufacturer and global distributor of medical refrigeration devices will share insights about how their solution contributes to ensure an unbroken cold chain throughout the vaccine distribution.

Speakers’ Biographies
Mr Dirk Schmitt - Cargo Community Manager at Lux-Airport
Since February of 2020, Dirk Schmitt is the Cargo Community Manager at lux-Airport, the state-owned company that operates and develops the airport of Luxembourg (LUX).
LUX is a regional gateway for passenger traffic and a global hub for air cargo operations. Its dedicated cargo infrastructure and services serve Cargolux International Airlines as home-base and make LUX a preferred hub for freighter operators in Europe. Consequently, LUX is continuously ranked among the Top 10 European cargo airports for tonnes handled on an annual basis.
In his role as Cargo Community Manager, Dirk is supporting the co-ordination and collaboration of the air cargo community at LUX, which also extends to the pharmaceutical logistics working group of the LUX air cargo community.
Mr Henrik Ambak - Senior Vice President, Cargo Operations Worldwide at Emirates
Henrik, a Danish national, took up his current role in 2014 and is responsible for the management of Emirates SkyCargo’s operations at its hub in Dubai, as well as the operations at the more than 155 outstations across the world, Standards & Safety, Service Delivery as well as Cargo Systems. He has by now spent 35 years in various roles in the air cargo industry. After initial years in freight forwarding he moved to airport and cargo handling for companies such as Cargo Center Copenhagen and CSLux before moving to the airline side in 2001 first at Cargolux Airlines to oversee cargo and ground handling, trucking, standards and procedures and network delivery before joining Emirates SkyCargo. Henrik is currently also serving as Chairman for Cargo iQ.
Mr Luc Provost - B Medical System
Mr. Luc Provost, CEO of B Medical Systems has been with the company for more than 20 years. He possesses a wealth of knowledge in business ownership, technology, operations, and sales and is at the core of the company’s reputation as an end-to-end medical cold chain provider. He is also a prominent speaker and thought leader in the field of medical refrigeration.
Since joining the company, he has played a pivotal role in the company’s revenue growth, geographical expansions. He was also instrumental in the launch of 50+ new products. In his official capacity as CEO, he has worked closely with several central governments, ministries of health, international humanitarian, etc.
