Join us for a discussion with Dr Thomas Pols, Health Manager Middle East & North Africa at Shell who will talk about fostering collaboration between (major) oil & gas companies to create industry guidance on COVID-19 pandemic management and worker welfare strategies to drive positive change in health, wellbeing, safety and business performance. Dr Pols will build on his experiences working as a physician for Shell across the MENA region including Iraq, the UAE and Egypt as well as his work for Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Pakistan and South Sudan prior to joining Shell in 2016. Dr Pols graduated from the University of Amsterdam School of Medicine and holds an MA in Law & Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.

Mr Roeland Kollen, Head of Regional Business Development at the Netherlands Embassy, will introduce some examples of online economic diplomacy, including the Netherlands Energy Technology Portal, a new initiative to promote Dutch energy technologies.

Mr Kollen has recently moved to Abu Dhabi, with extensive experience in economic and energy diplomacy after having worked in various diplomatic positions in Qatar, Morocco, Kenya and The Netherlands. Mr Kollen graduated from Utrecht University with a masters degree in international law and criminal law.
