Shell Aviation celebrated 50 years of operations in the UAE in 2017, encompassing the transformation of a quiet airfield into DXB, the busiest airport for international passenger traffic in the world. Today Shell Aviation provides aircraft fuel, lubricants, and services both at DXB and DWC. Shell supplies fuel, AeroShell lubricants, and laid advanced bitumen for both DXB runways in 2014/2019.

Ziad Soussou is in the integrated jet manager Middle East for Shell Aviation, with a background in international business and marine biology.

Ziad will sketch the path of Shell Aviation from early collaboration with Frank Whittle on the development of the jet engine, through to the challenges of working in one of the hardest hit industrial sectors by the COVID-19 pandemic.
